Exit the Grey: CHROM // Promenade Cinema and Dicepeople
Featuring live music from one of the most popular bands on the Exit the Grey dance floor: CHROM!
Chris and Tom of CHROM will be flying in from Germany to perform their melodic synthpop/futurepop sounds for you. Support will come from Sheffield’s amazing Promenade Cinema performing their ‘danceable darkwave’. Local dark electro act Dicepeople will be opening the night.
DJs will be spinning the usual quality mix of modern synthpop, EBM and futurepop between and after the bands until 3am.
CHROM were formed in May 2007 by Christian Marquis and Thomas Winters, after both discovered their mutual love for solid, club-compatible yet melodic Electro sounds. The group’s name is a combination of the two musician’s first names (CHRis and tOM.) CHROM stands for an effective synthesis of Synth Pop, EBM and Club-Electro, i.e.: massive beats and powerful bass with a harder edge, garnished with ultra-catchy melodies. The debut album “Electroscope” was released in 2010 on Fear Section, with distribution by Out Of Line to a lot of critical acclaim. The band has since toured repeatedly and highly successfully as support for the Berlin-based legend Blutengel. In March 2012, CHROM are releasing their second outing “Synthetic Movement” on Out Of Line Music, which further elaborates on the group’s trademark fusion of Club and electronic Pop music. Join the movement!

Debut album ‘LIVING GHOSTS’ (2018) has received airplay and critical acclaim worldwide. See you on the Promenade.

Nice to see you, it’s been a long time,
You’re just as lovely as you used to be!
Your hosts, Neil Gowans and The Winos, with our particular brand of countrified power pop ‘n’ roll, will be joined by some very special guests.
We’re simply thrilled to welcome The Len Price 3, a thunderously tuneful garage pop band from the Medway Delta. Think mod pop punky rock ‘n’ roll.
There will be an acoustic performance from Los Ladrones del Amor who specialize in a bruised but beautiful Latin Noir with echoes of the Clash, Cash & Cave.
Kicking the evening off are The Bakelite Space Programme, the marvellously named rock ‘n’ roll incarnation of Jonnie & Russ, who can rustle up a hell of a din with just the two of them.
So come on down Hoxton way for a marvellous night of exquisite entertainment and for only £7. A bargain.
Stay tuned for more rock ‘n’ roll…7:30pm-11pm £7 on the door

‘Hopeful and empowering lyricism offered on this ep is exactly what the world could use in a world that can often be filled with degrading and hateful messages’
“Destiny” is an expression of gratitude and happiness. As a result, the vibes transfer to the listener and a smile immediately comes on face. Such thoughtful music is hard to find these days and we feel enamored to share it with our readers.
Sharlene-Monique’s Destiny is a refreshing slice of sheer bliss. Each of the 4 featured originals were superb, whilst I adore them all my favourite had to be the wonderful Seeing Love.
-Music Is My Radar
2018 has been an exciting year so far for Sharlene, including a television debut performance on the BBC hit TV show ‘Call The Midwife’, a guest and host performance at the Houses of Parliment for Rocking Ur Teens & a number of shows promoting the EP in London & Glasgow. Not to mention her string of performances with The Kingdom Choir at Windsor castle for the wedding of the Duke & Duchess of Sussex, two performances at Westminister Abbey, 10 Downing Street, Good Morning Britain, Good Morning America & numerous appeareances on BBC news.
Other performance’s on the night from:
A singer/songwriter with a captivating and distinct voice. The trademark of her sound is attributed to her soft vibrational tones, coupled with her delightfully pure and vulnerable lyrics. This is most clearly demonstrated in her debut single ‘To The Brim’, which is just shy of half a million streams on Spotify. Her EP ‘Wildflower’ has kept thousands eager to hear more of what this unique wildflower has to offer. With roots spanning from East London to East Africa, her music is a blend of Western soul/indie/folk, seasoned with Rwandan folk influence. Although a singer/songwriter in her own right, her music is said to resemble legendary singer Tracy Chapman, Laura Marling, and Ellie Goulding. Kamikazi continues to showcase her talent across London featuring on platforms such as Sofar Sounds, London Live Sessions and Ronnie Scott’s. This rare talent is one to watch, and most certainly one to be heard!
James Francis is an exciting new artist from south London who has a fierce determination to make his mark on the music industry. His debut single ‘Want it All’ was nominated for a Jump Music Video award, and his latest single ‘Free to be Me’ is already causing a buzz with online music bloggers. Taking inspiration from the likes of Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross and Michael Jackson, his original songs combine rich soulful vocals with catchy pop R&B hooks that are sure to have you captivated.
