Empathy Test, the London electronic/synth pop duo featuring Isaac Howlett and Adam Relf, are finally ready to release not one, but two debut albums. Join them on 25th November 2017 to celebrate the release of Losing Touch and Safe From Harm, at Zigfrid von Underbelly in Hoxton, London. The band will perform both albums in their entirety.
Support act is fellow London synth pop artist NINA!
Empathy Test press
“Tear-streaked New Wave featuring twinkling synth pads and drum machine hits so wet (from the crying, presumably) that they’d throw Phil Collins into a jealous rage.” - Carl Williott, Idolator
“Gorgeous, sumptuous future pop which arrives dripping in synthesised sounds, there are nods towards Depeche Mode here alongside 21st century producers such as Purity Ring.” - Robin Murray, Clash
“Like M83, Purity Ring and CHVRCHES, Empathy Test draw from pop and cinematic scores in equal measure and come up with a big dramatic sound that swoons ecstatically between the nostalgic and immediate.” - Mario Cotto, KCRW
“A set of songs lovers of 80s synth pop will be drooling over the minute the first verse has been heard. More Visage than Mode, more pop than dance and not a smudge of eyeliner in sight.” - Louder Than War

DJs:
BRYDIE TONG has recently relocated from Ibiza and is quickly warming up the London scene. While living in Ibiza, Brydie was a resident at We Love Space and the infamous Mambo. You’ll be sure to find Brydie playing records full of feeling, keeping it deep, soulful yet always on-trend. Think anything from deep house, 80s, indie dance & nu disco seamlessly mixed in one of her eclectic sets.
KAMA consists of the boyfriend & girlfriend team Mariana Orsho and Luis Kennett, one of the London underground scene’s respected new arrivals. Their debut release in July 2017 was a remix of Ryan Pamatmat, Electum Goldensun and Russell Wayne’s 3-way collab You Know How on Celestial Recordings. With an old school, classic house sound, KAMA sets are designed to get you jumpin’, jackin’ and swerving to the beat like it’s 1999.

BELLE & BEX are a dynamic duo currently making some serious waves across clubland. Originating from Puerto Rico, Belle clearly brings the Latin spirit whilst French/Sri Lankan Bex keeps the vibe cool, calm and collected. Their debut track “COLD SWEAT” released on Chromoza Recordings hit the NO.9 spot on the Traxsource Tech House Chart, and the girls are currently rocking residencies at the W Hotel, Radio Rooftop, Netil House, and most recently guest spots for Ibiza’s hottest new shindig Melon Bomb.
One of the original Fump Soul Brothers, JAMES O CONNELL is a popular resident for one of Essex’s best kept secrets; FUMP (For Underground Music People). Most recently James has been rocking the dancefloor of Must Be Love, alongside the likes of original tech house masters Colin Dale and Eddie Richards. James’s sound is tough talking and bass-driven but always retains that all important soul groove.
Chromoza co-founder JUSTIN BALLARD has a CV that most DJs can only dream of. With lengthy residencies at Fabric, The Cross, The End and Turnmills under his belt, if it was a part of the naughties London, it’s pretty much a given Justin has graced the decks. Now only choosing to spin for select promoters in Spain and Italy while running the Chromoza empire, the HOH is a rare chance to catch this infamous purveyor of the fiercest deep tech in an intimate London setting.
