Eastern Heights with Far Out Monster Disco Orchestra

The soulful movement hits Hoxton Square for a spring session!

We may still be under layers but nothing better than stripping them off with great music… and that’s what we are here for!

Far Out label boss, producer and DJ Joe Davis lands in Hoxton for the release of the talented collective Far Out Monster Disco Orchestra second album.

For over two decades, Far Out Recordings has been a frontrunner in bridging Brazilian music via samba, house, jazz, bossa nova and breakbeat with worldwide audiences.

And for the past 10 years the elements of soul and disco have been added to the list. Far Out Monster Disco Orchestra was created along David Brinkworth and Daniel ‘Venom’ Maunick with the elite of Brazilian musicians in full orchestral mode for a fresh New York Disco sound or shall we say… Discozilian style.

Not only to mention those who have remixed their tracks… John Morales, Theo Parrish, LTJ Xperience, among others.

‘Black Sun’ is the second release from Far Out Monster Disco Orchestra arriving on April 20 in Vinyl, CD and digital format.

JOE DAVIS’s set shall bring all the above under a fresh wrap.

Resident Alex Eugenio sets the mood with a stir of soulful sounds from 5pm, throwing an extended set of disco, soulful house and rare grooves to heat us up and bloom our hearts.

And Zigfrid leaves Eastern Heights with an open patio and a happy hour  all night: Balearic Boogie ain’t get any better.

Apart from the hearty cocktails on the shake by the lovely Ziggy mixologists – the kitchen is serving home cooking bites and brunch for you and your buddies.

Grab a couch and a space on the dance floor!

Ivo Dimchev

New season….new collaborations….new arrangements…

After very intense tour and amazing concerts, premieres and performances around Europe during the summer, and after a very controversial appearance in some TV shows in UK, Ivo is back at Zigfrid with his great songs and again with a very SPECIAL GUEST.

This time he is sharing the stage with the young rapper and producer Boian Levchev.
You will have the pleasure to hear the new songs of Bojan but also totally new versions of Ivo’s songs on which they worked lately together.

CDs, books and T-shirts with the visual art of Ivo Dimchev will be available during and after the concert.

Ivo Dimchev is a choreographer and performer from Bulgaria, known internationally for his provocative and often controversial works of performance art. His work is an extreme and colourful mixture of performance art, dance, theatre, music, drawings, and photography. Dimchev is an author of more than 30 performances. He has received numerous international awards for dance and theatre and has presented his work across Europe, South America, and North America.

“Animalistic one moment, delicate the next, he meshes darkness and lightness with verbal and physical dexterity.”
-New York Times

“His beautiful singing sounds like a voice on an old record: poignantly far away.”
-Financial Times

“His enormous musicality and remarkable vocal gift are part of all of his productions.”

Chess Galea // Cara Hammond // JT Gautreau // INBAL // Liane Silva

Chess Galea was originally exposed to classical music, day in day out, as the piano was constantly being played at her childhood home, where she also began to learn to play the piano. A young Chess then looked through her mother’s CD collection, to find a ‘Queen’ album, which sparked her true ambition – singing and performing. Dancing since she was 2, Chess really knows how to own a stage and her live performances are not to be missed. She has performed at Silvana New York, The Emirates Palace Abu Dhabi, and The Roundhouse London, to name a few.

Chess is also a songwriter and regularly pens songs for artists all over the world, as well as writing her own songs. Her song ‘Rise’ independently reached number 40 in the iTunes Charts last year, and she has been a semi-finalist in the UK songwriting contest, twice. Chess is now learning to play the bass guitar, her favourite instrument, to add something extra to her live show.

Her influences include Prince, Freddy Mercury, Whitney Houston and Alicia Keys.

In 2018 Chess appeared on the BBC One Prime Time Show ‘All Together Now’ and has been supported by BBC Introducing.
