I LUV LIVE: AMiR // Aneesa Marie // Cheryll // Luke Burr // The Katanas

Last year’s single ‘Drench Me With Your Lust’ was a solid introduction to the AMiR sound, incorporating layers of funky guitar riffs, a swinging 4×4 kick pattern and thick, warm vocal harmonies. It wasn’t long before Spotify’s curation team got behind the track, boosting the track to over 100K streams in just over a week. Then to finish 2017, AMiR released the electro-funk single ‘All Or Nothing’ with a significant remix package. The release cemented AMiR as an artist on the rise, with regular plays via Kiss FM and a host of other national radio stations, ‘All Or Nothing’ entered the Urban Club Chart at #7 as well as breaching the top 10 pop and urban club charts. The track was also featured as the BBC Introducing ‘Track of the Week’ in late October and more recently, AMiR was shortlisted as one of BBC Asian Network’s Sounds of 2018.
Aneesa Marie
The Trinidadian native, Aneesa’ Marie has been singing since a tender age, growing her repertoire and nurturing her skills over the years. Her music has been described as an imbuing interpretation of neo soul and contemporary jazz; it “comes from the soul”. Based on her life experiences, both dark and light, Aneesa’s vibe offers something unique and healing. With projects ‘Son of Ankharchy’, ‘Turquoise Pineapples’ & ‘Lost in Louise’ in the music circuit Aneesa has displayed her ability to be diverse and the ever-changing artist.  Aneesa’ Marie is on a mission, to uplift, educate and empower with her soul rich sound and thought- provoking lyricism.

23 year old Cheryll is an R&B singer based in London. She began making music in May 2017 and has been pushing hard ever since. Her influences are the likes of Ashanti, Aaliyah & Brandy. Cheryll boasts an intense soul warming voice, using her words to express her deep life experiences. “Music is always something I’ve loved, i really want people to hear my music and love it as much as i do!”

Luke Burr
Hailing from Essex, Luke Burr found his love for music through listening to his father’s old soul records. Inspired by the incredible voices of Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross and George Benson. His flair for performing was triggered at fifteen, when he booked his first few gigs at some local pubs. Word quickly spread of the local teenager with the incredible voice beyond his years. Inspired by production that pushes the boundaries, Luke’s fearless approach to telling his story through his lyrics all while letting his soulful vocals connect with the audience has given him a credible sound that also carries a unique pop sensibility.

The past 4 years has seen the pair working transatlantically between Atlanta and the UK and after years of hard work and soul searching the sisters have decided to go back to basics and make music that inspires them, as a result, they have managed to combine the reality of their world and experiences with the hope and promise that Soul music offers, which has led them to create a sound they call ‘Cosmic Soul’.
